BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (October 30) – Vice governor Jose Gambito here has assured Novo Vizcayanos of more projects designed to benefit the province in exchange for the taxes that are being paid to the provincial government here.

“Let us cooperate and continue to support our local government in its programs and projects. I believe that our province is now faring very well in its vision of improving the lives of our constituents,” Gambito said in one of the radio programs of the provincial government dubbed “Vizcaya Reports” through DWRV.

Gambito made the call amid the recent wave of criticisms hurled against the present political leadership led by governor Luisa Cuaresma on the newly – approved budget for infrastructure projects, he said the budget was a mere “differential” from the 20 percent Internal Revenue Allotment(IRA) for 2008.

“This means that these funds were not included in our annual budget because we were not sure then that we will receive these,” Gambito explained.

The vice governor added that once the funds were released, the Provincial Development Council(PDC) executive committee was immediately convened and prioritized the necessary projects for the said funds which was later approved by the local chief executive.

“This funding request for appropriation from the provincial board, understanding it as an urgent acted on this favorably,” Gambito said.

The funds, he said will be spent for the improvement of the provincial museum, expansion and development of the provincial capitol compound to include the newly-purchased Calderon Compound, development of the Dumlao Boulevard, repair of comfort rooms and road development among many others.

Gambito also explained that the immediate action on the more than P31M fund is timely considering the periodic increase of construction materials.

“In this way, we will also earn savings which will again redound to the benefit of our constituents in general,” he said.

He said that while some ideas are not being supported in the provincial board, the political leadership believes that all of these ideas are in support to the welfare of Novo Vizcayanos.

“We cannot please all our ideas but we believe that we have the same vision for our province which is development. And this is the essence of democracy in practice,” he added. Ben Moses Ebreo, PIANV
